How can I help?Having worked as an English teacher at secondary level, I began tutoring GCSE English approximately fifteen years ago. I thoroughly enjoy supporting students on a one to one basis, tailoring my teaching to suit the needs of the pupil and helping them to fully achieve their potential. Recently, I worked as an examiner for GCSE English Language and I can teach key study skills for exams as well as supporting and building confidence through careful guidance. I can offer diagnostic help and advice with special educational needs,
After moving back to East Anglia, I started teaching in primary schools and spent 12 months training as a Reading Recovery teacher developing expertise with early literacy intervention, especially focusing on initial reading and writing difficulties.. I also have experience working with pupils who are being home-educated, including teaching the IGCSE English course and achieving outstanding results.. As well as this, I have successfully coached several pupils taking scholarship tests, 11+ and Common Entrance exams for selective and private schools. For the last six years I have worked as an English intervention teacher at an outstanding secondary school, as well as tutoring English to KS2, KS3 and GCSE pupils. I am now offering online lessons. |
